We complain because we have our chickens in the garden and have to grow everything under cover, then we also get the occasional sparrowhawk trying to get one of our fantail pigeons. The answer is in your/our philosophy though, share and share alike, if you grow enough food then everyone gets fed and no one feels the need to go on a snacking rampage.
